“Changing One Life at a Time”
Dear Friends and family,
Greeting in the name of Jesus. I want to wish you all a happy new year and a prosperous one. As we approach the new year, I can’t help but look back on the blessing of God for MSM and in my own personal life in the past year. We want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of MSM in 2023. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Myanmar Samaritan Mission. We are excited that God has led us thus far and we are looking forward to what he will do for the people in Myanmar through MSM. We have so much to be thankful for not only in our family but in the mission field too.
During 2023: we have accomplished the following with your help:
Monthly support to our mission locations. (5 different locations)
Distributed 500 Bibles to new Christians.
Dug 2 water wells in Chin State.
Distributed basic foods to over 230 families (over 1000 people).
Provided education and teaching of the Word daily to over 150 kids.
Reach over 300 people with weekly religious learning and home cells.
10 people got baptized this year.
Build 2 small buildings for the ministry Center.
Provided 70 chairs for the worship center.
Provided one outreach to refugee families in the States.
2024 Goals:
Pray that MSM will be able to continue to teach and preach the gospel at our mission centers.
Pray for educational ministry to teach about Jesus and help with the children to gain knowledge. If you want to sponsor a child, it is only $30 a month to sponsor a child for education.
Pray for water well ministry. There are many places that need clean water well. We hope to dig as much as we can in 2024. Each project cost is varied and based on the location.
Pray for the GoodSoil Ministry at Mogoke City to be able to build a multipurpose building.
Pray for Bible distribution ministry. We need many more Bibles and we are hoping to distribute 500 Bibles 2024 again.
Pray for a medical trip to Myanmar in the coming year. Tentative date December if the country is safe to travel.
Pray for the disaster relief ministry, the people in Myanmar are still in need of daily food supplies.
Pray for Refugees community outreach in the state where we can encourage and teach these families.
Updates from the Mission field:
Educational centers are continuing with their schooling now that the holidays are behind us.
At Dahlah Mission center, we had 2 people get baptized and became a Christian during the holiday. Praise God for this.
The military government continues to cause trouble to the people of Myanmar by dropping bombs and taking young men to be porters for their activities.
The government also blocks roads and transportation so it is hard for our team to travel. Please pray for their safety.
The government also took away one of Dahlah mission worship places and now they are praying to find another place to worship.
We want to thank everyone of you for supporting us faithfully, the Pau family, the Root family and all our mission team in Myanmar would like to wish you all a happy New Year!
On behalf of MSM,
Cing Root
